We accept applications throughout the year. Nevertheless, we recommend that you apply while school is in session (for the following year) so that we can organize the appropriate evaluations and interviews. We close applications only when we reach the maximum amount of students in a class.

We have an average of 15 students per class (market average is 20 students). This is an average; there are some classes that have as little as 5 students and as many as 23. Our ratio of students to adults is 5:1; we have 5 children to each adult considering TAs, counsellors and other teachers aside from classroom/subject matter teacher.
We are an IB school. We follow the PYP at the younger grades and the IB diploma program in High School. We are aligned with AERO standards and are a member of the Common Ground Collaborative. We also are recognized by the local Ministry of Education.
Once we have a complete application, AC takes approximately 2 to 3 days to process the application after the student has taken their evaluation. The school may take longer in certain cases and applicants will be notified of timeframe our Admissions decision.
Admissions decisions are made with the wellbeing of the student in mind. We base our decisions on information provided by the family and the previous school as well as on the results of our evaluation of the child and their needs.

For students applying from preschool to Grade 8, English is not a prerequisite. We offer an ELL program for our students.
For students applying to Grades 9 and 10, it is necessary for the student to have a certain level of English; their understanding of the English language is determined during the Admissions and Evaluation process.
For students applying to Grades 11 and 12, English is necessary and we evaluate their level of English in order to be sure they will be successful at AC and in the IB program.
Report cards or transcripts that come from another country should be legalized in the country of origin and the originals provided to Admissions as part of the enrollment process. If you are coming from a local school (within Ecuador), we require the original "pases de año" from the Ministry of Education in order to facilitate the transfer from your child’s former school.
