IB Spanish B SL&HL Year 1
Cuentos de amor, de locura y de muerte by Horacio Quiroga (A collection of short stories.)

  • Book is in copy room! Students must check out the book before they leave for summer break.
  • You must read two short stories from this collection in total.
  • One of your own choosing.
  • One required for all students: El almohadón de plumas.
  • These readings will be challenging for many of you, but I want you to try your best to understand them. I am looking for basic reading comprehension for this task, nothing more. You may work with other Spanish speakers for help. Try your best!
  • I highly suggest www.wordreference.com (Spanish to English, English to Spanish) for help with lexicon, verb conjugations, and more. You can even download the app on your phones!
  • Feel free to write down questions and take notes. You can contact me via email over the summer.

IB Biology
Students in both SL and HL should review Gr 10 Biochemistry by completing the Biochem Intro and viewing and taking notes on the two presentations.  Preread Topic 2: Biochemistry (except for 2.8 & 2.9).

Students should follow the instructions in the “Rising Juniors” folder in IB CHM Summer HW. The welcome letter contains all necessary instructions.

  2. Complete “sec a” through “sec y” showing any relevant working and check using “answers”.

IB Biology II
HL students will review Topic 9: Botany.  Please review the presentations and complete the assignments in order (9.1, 9.2, etc.).  Notes and assignments are also on OneNote.  Students are not responsible for completing the transpiration lab nor the flower dissection though they spend some time looking at the different strategies to attract different pollinators that flowers have developed and should complete the germination lab (assessed on Analysis/Conc-Eval).

SL Mathematics II
Students in the summer need to conduct their research/do the experiment and write about it as they have planned to be prepared for their first full IA Draft due August 25.
Students also need to keep their skills “fresh” from year one.  To do so, students need to read the reviews and complete the problems for each of the topics included in this google folder.
 
Studies SL II
