All our teachers hold university degrees; 90% of our teachers have graduated from an English language college or university (in the US, Canada, Europe). Our teachers include: counsellors, librarians, psychologists, sports coaches, ESOL specialists, learning support specialists, reading and technology integration coaches for all grade levels.

Click on Starting School Resources. Our uniform is a polo shirt (blue, white, pink) and sweaters with our AC logo. Students are free to select their own clothes as the bottom of the uniform (jeans, skirts, leggings etc.)

We accept applications throughout the year. Nevertheless, we recommend that you apply while school is in session (for the following year) so that we can organize the appropriate evaluations and interviews. We close applications only when we reach the maximum amount of students in a class.

Classes run from 8 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday. Extracurricular activities run from 3 to 4 pm. PreKinder classes are dismissed at noon.

We have an average of 15 students per class (market average is 20 students). This is an average; there are some classes that have as little as 5 students and as many as 23. Our ratio of students to adults is 8:1; we have 8 children to each adult considering TAs, counsellors and other teachers aside from classroom/subject matter teacher.

IMAGINE is Academia Cotopaxi’s preschool for children 12 months to 4 or 5 years (depending on location - we have two campuses).

Once we have a complete application, AC takes approximately 2 to 3 days to process the application after the student has taken their evaluation. The school may take longer in certain cases and applicants will be notified of timeframe our Admissions decision.

Admissions decisions are made with the wellbeing of the student in mind. We base our decisions on information provided by the family and the previous school as well as on the results of our evaluation of the child and their needs.

AC covers basic supplies. Additional supplies are sometimes required depending on Grade level and course offering.

Yes. We offer Learning Support and each child’s application is considered on a case by case basis.

For students applying from preschool to Grade 8, English is not a prerequisite. We offer an ELL program for our students.

For students applying to Grades 9 and 10, it is necessary for the student to have a certain level of English; their understanding of the English language is determined during the Admissions and Evaluation process.

For students applying to Grades 11 and 12, English is necessary and we evaluate their level of English in order to be sure they will be successful at AC and in the IB program.

Report cards or transcripts that come from another country should be legalized in the country you are coming from and the originals provided to Admissions as part of the enrollment process. If you are coming from a local school (within Ecuador), we require the original "pases de año" from the Ministry of Education in order to facilitate the transfer from your child’s former school.
