Maria Jose´s thoughts and learnings from Academia Cotopaxi
“Academia Cotopaxi was a tight-knit community, where lots of learning occurred. It was a special bubble within Quito with a mixture of cultures. Allowed me to become open minded, especially in regards to valuing others’ cultures, and taught me many of the values I try to uphold today (respect, responsibility, honesty, positive attitude, leadership).
I have developed professionally and have learned to be a “small fish in a very big pond” - especially because now I work at a large organization in New York City! I have also learned to appreciate home, my roots, my country and my education. I would now like to give back to my childhood community and my home.”
