Learning the Importance of a Hard Day’s Work

HS Hard Work

Discover Ecuador trips headed off on Monday to Otavalo, the Amazon and the Coast. Students participate in service learning for the entire week, working shoulder to shoulder with peers, teachers and our host-nation countrymen and women who need our assistance. Camps International, the company who helps us organize the trips, develops relationships with small towns and villages to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. Camps International works with the community until they become self reliant and then they look for other communities to assist.

Our students learn the importance of a hard day’s work, they learn to value what they have, and they learn the important skill of developing empathy for another.

The senior class will participate in a senior retreat this week. Mr. Bordaguibel will lead our students through IB tasks and Mr. Wasser will assist with college planning seminars and visits.

I would like to thank all of the HS Faculty for their efforts with our students this week. Many of them will spend an entire week with students with little to no breaks. Please help me in thanking our intrepid faculty members as they exit the bus on Friday afternoon for a job well done!
