Suzie Boss

In this all-day workshop, discover why PBL is taking hold across grade levels and content areas to engage students in deep and meaningful learning. We will use PBL practices during a hands-on, collaborative learning experience. Expect to come away with:

  • Understanding best practices for project design and research about PBL effectiveness
  • Knowing how to plan projects that engage student interests while meeting academic goals
  • Strategies to manage the "messy middle" of projects
  • Ideas for connecting students with experts and audiences outside the classroom
  • Tools for assessing student learning across the arc of a project
  • Ideas for integrating digital tools in PBL

Workshop presenter Suzie Boss is the author of several books about PBL and innovation in education, including Reinventing Project-Based Learning and Bringing Innovation to School. She is a regular contributor to and a member of the Buck Institute for Education National Faculty. She lives in Portland, Oregon, and consults with schools internationally.
