ES #2

It is truly impressive to have observed your children these past couple of weeks!  They are positively engaging in their classes, following routines, being there for each other and have varied levels of responsibility according to what is appropriate.  It is beautiful to watch even our little ones walking in with confidence as they carry their own backpacks, find where to go (there’s always an adult who is with them), and knowing how to access their learning tools.  This week, grades 1-4 will also begin participating in our Kids’ Cafe program in the cafeteria.

We encourage you to support your child’s autonomy at home.  Children benefit from simple tasks like getting their clothes ready (to include a cap for recess time), taking care of their belongings (there are several non-labeled items in our lost and found) and contributing to the overall needs of your family.

We encourage parents who are interested in supporting our school-home partnership as homeroom parent representatives to contact your homeroom teacher.  See our director’s message regarding parent engagement and the PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association).
