Mrs. Erika Calle, Board member and parent of two HS boys, asked me yesterday how I felt about my time in Ecuador. I can honestly say that, both Jackie and I, Griffin and Rian have had a tremendous time here in this beautiful country. We feel very blessed to have been fortunate enough to call Ecuador home for the past three years. Thank you for making us feel so welcome here.

The HS has come a long way in the past three years. I would like to thank the faculty members who persevered through all of the change and initiatives to bring AC’s HS program in line with current educational best practices and to refine many of our systems in order to provide our student body with opportunities to shine.

I am extremely fortunate to have worked alongside faculty members and administrators who care deeply about education and the whole child. The HS, under the leadership of Mr. Fred Bordaguibel and his team, Mr. Brian Voeller, Ms. Delaney Keyes, Mr. Lysha Wasser and Mr. Juan Jose Fuentes will do amazing things.

I will miss the students the most, great kids doing wonderful things inside and outside AC’s classroom walls.

Thank you to the members of the Academia Cotopaxi Community for this wonderful opportunity.

IB Corner
IB Diploma candidates are working on their EE this week. A detailed, 2000 word outline is due by Wednesday.

College Counseling Corner
Over 6 million dollars worth of scholarships was awarded to this year’s Senior class. Our upcoming Seniors are looking strong as well - nothing but good news from our College Counseling Office. Congratulations all!

Cougar Corner
Cougars are off to rest and recover from a long and hard fought Athletic year. Lots of lessons learned, medals to recognize their efforts, great experiences and lots of friends in the form of team mates and rivals that are the witnesses to their growth. This growth will continue next year with new challenges, more competition, more support for our coaching staff, more parent involvement and the ever present dedication and perseverance of our young athletes. Thank you everyone for your support throughout the year and we hope to have you back next year supporting our program.
