MS May 28

We have another full week ahead in the Middle School! Tonight is the Band concert, Wednesday the Grade 8s will spend a few hours in the High School, Thursday we have the Choir and Drama performances, and Friday is the MS Social. And, of course, a very full week of classroom learning!

MS Social
Our final MS Social of the school year is on May 31. It will begin a bit earlier this time - the Social will run from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., in the Gym. MS Socials are for all grade levels, and the House Leaders would especially like to honor the Grade 8 students at this final social. If you are a Grade 8 parent, please encourage your child to attend.

Summer Learning
You will receive detailed information about summer learning expectations for all students. Here is an article you may like to read for ideas on how to incorporate learning experiences into your summer plans: Summer Learning (English)

Counselor’s Corner
Over the past week in Cougar Time mentors have facilitated some really important and engaging conversations in their mentor groups as we looked our topic on “Image.” There were three separate lessons on Self-Esteem, Gender Stereotypes, and Social Media that all tied together. If you are looking for a helpful article to understand a child’s developing self-esteem, here is an article for parents in English and Español

Grade 8 Moving On Celebration
All Grade 8 parents have received an email with details about the Grade 8 Moving On Celebration on Wednesday, June 12. The celebration will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium and the afternoon will end with a reception at 3:00 p.m. Please contact the MS Office if you have questions.

MS Awards
Following the AC tradition, the Middle School school year ends with a few award categories. Class Awards will be given on Monday, June 10. Presidential and other special awards will be given on Wednesday, June 12. If your child is receiving a class award or special award, you will be notified a week in advance with an invitation to attend the event.

With kind regards,
