September is now upon us and the real stuff is happening. Assessment, grades, retakes, learning at different speeds. Let’s remind our students to be present, to do their best and to get involved.
Reminder that your students have until Tuesday September 3 to change any of their courses for this semester.
Student-Led Activities Fair (SLA)
The SLA Fair will be held on Friday, September 6 during GC Time, from 10:55 a.m. - 11:55 a.m. The location will be the Learning Commons and like in past years, we will take the students by grade level as follows:
10:55 a.m. Students go to their mentor.
11:00 a.m. 9th grade mentors take their students to the fair.
11:15 a.m. 10th grade mentors take their students to the fair.
11:30 a.m. 11th grade mentors take their students to the fair.
11:45 a.m. 12th grade mentors take their students to the fair.
We are on our second week of the season, teams are training well, captains have been chosen and our first games will be on September 24.
For the week of September 2 - 6, we will not have 6:00 p.m. buses. The bus service will be moved up to 5:00 p.m. With this change, we will have to start practices at 3:15 p.m. Your coaches will add this information to your team chats. Starting on September 9, we will return to the usual schedule.
College Counseling News
- September 6 is the last day you can register to take the SAT or SAT IIs on October 5. Seats still remain at Colegio Menor. However, please do not delay in registering online.This is a message primarily aimed at 12th graders.
- Mr. Wasser be hosting a Common Application workshop at Academia Cotopaxi on Tuesday, September 17 from 12:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. This is a half-day and transportation will not be provided. Mr. Wasser will be sending out a follow up RSVP message on September 9.
- There will be a general information center for Cambridge University in the Academia Cotopaxi Auditorium on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP here.
9th and 10th graders will be testing this week. Please be ready and do your best as we use the MAP data to personalise your learning. Here is the letter Ms Hoyle sent this week.
