Director´s Message

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a rewarding four-day break with your children.

On behalf of the teachers, administrators, parents and students involved in the High School Principal recruitment process, I am happy to announce that Ms. Lauren Pool, current Deputy Director of Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) will be following in the footsteps of Mr. Frederic Bordaguibel-Labayle to lead our High School program forward starting next year.

This week at the PTSA coffee, one of the themes will be the importance of engagement, not just involvement, of parents for ensuring student success. Involvement means "to enfold or envelope." Involvement implies doing to. Engagement is "to come together and interlock." Engagement implies doing with. A key component of success for our students is working with parents as a team. During the PTSA presentation, different ways of becoming more engaged in your child’s school experience will be examined. Additionally, there will be a presentation about our AC Space Club - a truly unique and engaging way to teach science in collaboration with NASA.

“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents.” - John D. Hull
