General Music (Elementary)

General Music for young children is a joyful, hands-on class that sparks curiosity and excitement about music. Students explore rhythm games, singing, creative movement, and guided music-making. Using Orff instruments such as xylophones, glockenspiels, and percussion tools, children learn to create and respond to sound expressively. They also explore basic music theory — patterns, beat, and pitch — through playful activities that build creativity, collaboration, and confidence.

Students build confidence and competence on a variety of instruments through individual instruction, group rehearsals, and engaging musical activities. The program develops skills in music reading, instrumental technique, ensemble performance, and expressive musicianship, while fostering teamwork, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for making music together.
