AASSA Basketball/Soccer Results:  2 Silvers for AC Cougars

The AC Cougar varsity Boys Basketball and Girls Soccer teams earned silver medals in the AASSA tournament held at Colegio Americano this past Friday and Saturday.  Coach Loynes' Cougar boys could not overcome an early deficit and came up short against Alliance Academy in the Boys Basketball finals.  The Cougar boys showed heart and determination as they cut a 20 point lead to six points down the stretch, but Alliance outlasted the Cougars in a heated battle.  The AC Cougar Girls Soccer team fell in the AASSA finals to Colegio Amerciano in a hard-fought match.  Coach Estupiñan was pleased with his girls' effort, and they maintained a high level of play throughout the tournament.
Alliance and Cotopaxi square off again in the finals of the QISSA League in Boys Basketball on Thursday, February 11 (5:30 p.m. start), at Alliance, while the AC Cougar girls compete in the QISSA League Girls Soccer finals at Colegio Menor, also on Thursday, February 11 (4:00 p.m. start).  Go Cougars!
